Strategic Planning: I have facilitated and developed full strategic planning processes with Boards and Executives in several industries and multi-billion dollar companies as well as with entrepreneurs. I facilitate a process that is based on facts & data rather than relying solely on judgment/opinion and ensure the process is action/results oriented to avoid a theoretical or bureaucratic approach. As many industries emerge from the recent economic challenges, many firms are developing plans to go on "offense." I help companies develop strategic game plans and time-bound, measurable action plans to jump-start growth, while taking advantage of opportunities in the marketplace.
M&A Advisor: I have provided merger and acquisition advice to a variety of industries including healthcare, construction, real estate and banking for companies ranging in size up to $1 billion in annual sales. M&A advisory services include acquisitions, exit planning/harvest, sales, spin-offs/divestitures, recapitalizations, financing transactions, private equity transactions, family office transactions, and management buyouts.
Board Advisor: Having occupied both the director chair and the CEO chair, I understand the Board's issues and can be an effective bridge between the board and management. I have also worked with several firms to evolve their governance policies and practices.
Family Business/Private Company Strategy: Family-Owned Businesses and Private Companies face strategic issues quite different from publicly-traded companies. Providence Advisors understands that the business strategy issues for a private company must also coordinate with the ownership strategy and succession planning. Providence Advisors offers assistance with ownership issues such as: long-term ownership strategies including multi-generational ownership transfer, sale of the company to strategic buyers or financial buyers such as private equity firms, recapitalization and distribution of funds to the ownership family, and employee ownership strategies including ESOPs. Additionally, we provide expertise around challenging issues such as developing family members for leadership positions, succession planning and how to optimize and motivate the contribution of non-family executives.
Project Management: I turn plans into action and completed tasks. This is crucial and often more easily done by an outsider who effectively keeps people engaged in the process and moving forward toward the goal.
Capital Raise Preparation: I do necessary work to prepare a company for a capital raise including capital planning and reverse due diligence.
